Clients judge a virtual consultation in the first ten seconds. Clear light, steady video and clean audio make you look like the professional you are, and they help you see the skin.

Lighting

• Face a window or use a soft ring light or panel at eye level
• Avoid overhead lighting alone, which casts shadows
• Use daylight-balanced bulbs (about 5000K) so skin tones look accurate
• Coach the client to face a window, too. Their light matters more than yours.

Camera and position

• Camera at eye level, framed from mid-chest up
• A plain, tidy background, or a branded backdrop
• A phone on a tripod often beats a laptop webcam

Audio

• A quiet room with soft surfaces to reduce echo
• Wired earbuds or a simple USB microphone

Connection

• Use a wired connection or sit near your router
• Close other apps and uploads during sessions
• Have a backup: your phone on cellular data

On-camera tools

• Product samples to show texture and packaging
• A notepad or template for your written plan
• A hand mirror to demonstrate application technique
